Alan Ayckbourn will premiere a new play, Constant Companions, at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, in 2023.

The playwright’s home theatre announced the news alongside its complete line-up of shows for 2023.

Constant Companions will run at the Stephen Joseph Theatre from 1 – 30 September and tickets will gone on sale to the general public on 30 November.

In the not-too-distant future humans have turned to artificial friends for companionship without compromise. Alan Ayckbourn weaves together the story of highflying lawyer Lorraine, lonely bachelor Don and technician Winston with characteristic humour and compassion.
