Ask The Archivist

There’s a new Ask The Archivist on the Ayckbourn YouTube Channel looking at Alan Ayckbourn’s famed trilogy The Norman Conquests.

The trilogy celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023 and the question asked is, when did The Norman Conquests become The Norman Conquests?

Not as odd a question as its might appear as when the trilogy premiered in Scarborough in 1973, it was not known as The Norman Conquests, that only came later.

The playwright’s Archivist, Simon Murgatroyd, is on hand to answer this question as well as what the correct order to see the trilogy is in the video.
