Alan Ayckbourn talks exclusively about his memories of growing up during the Blitz to his Archivist, Simon Murgatroyd, on the Ayckbourn YouTube Channel.

The playwright was born in April 1939 and his formative memories are of growing up in London during World War 2. In the exclusive interview, he talks about his experiences and memories which also served as part of the inspiration for his 85th play, The Girl Next Door.
